IF MUSIC IS BUSINESS SHOULDN'T WE PROMOTE IT BETTER?
This might sound funny to some people reading this. You might be saying... I know music is business. Or you may say it's more of an artform and you the musician or producer are an artist. Yes you are an artist and the art needs to be shown off in a way that looks good.
If you want your music to look good to the audience you need a professional presence that makes you stand out. Videos, artwork, and graphics are all things that give you a professional visual presence.
Here are a few cool tips to help in getting your music heard!
1. Have a great quality sound.
Pretty simple right! If you have a sound that is of great quality you will be able to attract your audience with your primary product! Have a great recording, an awesome memorable song, great lyrics and instrumentation to match!
2. Graphics, logo and brand
If you don't have a logo, cool graphics or a brand then nobody is going to recognize you. You might say hey... They will know my sound! What if you are being shown on a flyer, poster, album art or a website? That doesn't let them hear the music. All successful music has a brand image. It might be the hair, the clothes, or often times this includes the name of artist or band in a special font accompanied by a logo treatment and graphics. Successful musicians aren't only succeeding because they have great music, they also have a great image! Think of OUTKAST, DRAKE, METALLICA, THE POSTAL SERVICE or THE BEETLES to name a few. They all have a brand image. This makes them able to sell and be recognizable in all of the traffic.
3. Videos and web presence
How many top artists have videos? How many top artists and producers have websites? If your answer was all of them it's a pretty good one. This is an age where your music must be promoted heavily online. If it isn't then nobody is going to hear it. Maybe your trying to capture listeners in town and build a fan base. Maybe that fan base isn't growing fast enough. Maybe you aren't showing quality imagery that says we are pros! Build and image and have good videos. Hire a videographer or an editor to produce a quality video that you know will give you views and recognition! This will help you reach more potential fans and build your brand.

Facebook is easily the top social media site online. So many people are using it. Everyone from teenagers to baby boomers and beyond. You can target a specific market and really get a bigger following and an awesome response!
Here are 5 Amazing Tips to getting more out of Facebook for business!
You look at your Facebook business page and say to yourself "how come I only have so few followers?". You haven't invited enough followers! Really simple... INVITE, INVITE, INVITE! Invite all of your Facebook friends from your personal page and have your close friends, co workers, employees, company partners invite their friends to like your page! This increases your reach and allows more people to see your posts, share them, like them and become familiar with your company. If your pretty good pals with other companies that serve the same clientele you can go about asking them to return the favor and invite people to your page and do the same for them. This shares clients interested in your brand and builds up both companies. So always remember INVITE!!!
You may be a business that works in close contact with other businesses. Well if so have your business pages like eachother! TAGGING allows both businesses to tag eachother and piggyback when you have a BIG SALE or a SPECIAL EVENT! This shows that you two have a good relationship and that people who shop at one place should also try the other. Now... (Disclaimer) I wouldn't recommend doing this if you sell the same types of products (Unless your friendly)You are competitors so being if people begin to like one product more than the other you could have put yourself in hot water with that post. If not! Then you have the opportunity to really shine and share business! TAG by liking eachothers pages and simply typing the other companies name while writing a post. Usually this will pop up and you can click the company to tag them. TAG AWAY!
3. Have great pictures!
When you promote your business have great pictures and don't be shy about sharing them. After all it is SOCIAL MEDIA. Sharing pictures gives interest to your page. People are more likely to click, like or share a picture. Doing this links them back to your businesses Facebook page and with the right picture gives you the potential to go VIRAL! Keep taking pictures you have a smart phone right? In fact you might be reading this on your smart phone now! Use your phone it's a window to the world and can be a big help for your business. Another great thing to do is to hire a Professional Photographer or a Graphic Designer. They can provide you with great images that can captivate your audience and build up your social media presence.
4. Post a lot! (but not the same thing)
Yup! Really simple advice. POST A LOT! You read right. Post a lot but don't post the same thing. If you post the same thing all of the time, you will begin to bore your audience. Be sure that what you post looks good! Don't just post text. Posting text doesn't get any attention. Post images that's the way to get a reaction from your audience. Think about who your audience is and what they like about you and your company. This way you can post the right things they will like and share. Give them something to talk about!
5. Use Pages for FACEBOOK.
The application Pages for your mobile device is a great way to manage and update posts everyday no matter where you are. This app allows you to post photos, updates, links, tags and more. This is downloadable via the App Store through your device. (The icon is pictured at the beginning of the blog ) This allows you to see the messages to your business from clients so you can be in touch with them on a regular basis giving you a feel for the climate for your business.

Build your career and build your future.
Your a hardworking person who knows they need more income. If cost of living is going up, aren't you worth more at your job? Each day we face the challenges of price and cost adjustments. This affects our living situations. Are you able to pay your rent, purchase the food you need each week, keep your utilities running, even pay your debts and medical bills off? Most of us find this a challenge while overworking oneself and getting underpaid. You might be a few years in without a raise or any benefits. This is a predicament. If your feeling this pressure my best advice is to open your mouth. Say something to your manager, your boss, your employer or whoever has the authority to give you the raise you deserve. If your a hardworking individual you should get paid like one. Often enough we as employees do not speak up. Whether we are offered a job and the employer says they can only pay $1 over the minimum wage or you have been stagnant without a raise for some time. If and when you speak up, plan your discussion, know your value, say a prayer, and be confident. If your working hard your employer knows it to. It's all a matter of if and when you come to them for the pay raise. If your a new hire whose just been offered the job expect to get the offer before you interview. Dress professional at your interview and be confident. Think in advance of reasons why you should earn more for the position you will be in. Perhaps you have skills or experience that pertains to the type of work. Yes there are those situations when the employer won't budge but if you don't stand up for yourself nobody will. If more people ask for the money they need to survive the only option is to offer more pay to each and every person. Stand confident, believe in yourself and go for the raise or pay you desire and need. If you know your value and your employer does to, you will get the pay your looking for.

Developing a company logo that is unique and original is very important for all businesses. When a company develops a logo it takes time and the time is valuable. The idea the logo portrays and the feeling the logo gives to clients is very important. This is what people will recognize when they think of your company. It is the first impression in many cases when someone goes to your website or walks in the door. Often companies logos don't show what the business does, so it's always good to show that the company has a specific relation through the logo. It could be incorporating a custom image of a cake for a bakery into the company name, and having the imagery flow well with the font.
The logo is very important to the companies identity so spending a little more on your logo to create something great and relateable for your business is ok. Companies like citibank didn't get their logo just overnight. Remember logos take time, creativity and effort. A good designer is worth their weight in gold and so is a great logo.
